Updates & Closures

03.16.2022

We wanted to update everyone on a few topics. We are still waiting on a part for the outdoor hot tub. They are expecting it to come in tomorrow and will install it if it arrives. When the utilities were being changed/checked the pool heaters reset and went down to the standard temp of 70 so it has been turned back up and will hopefully stay heated, especially with the cooler temps these spring breakers are having to deal with. We have a new security sign installed above the desk so guests will be able to call either the on-call phone or the after-hours number if they need security. It also states that in the event of inclement weather parking passes can be purchased from the 3rd-floor office. The pool company will begin construction of the splash pad on Monday (weather permitting) and we will have the area blocked off, but again pool will remain open. Hope to have all four sprayers installed at the boardwalk this week. Still waiting for glass for lobby area enclosure.

As we approach spring break and with summer around the corner our building will be full of guests and we are excited about winding down the construction, the addition of a splash pad and so many other improvements that we can all appreciate. In previous years it became an issue with guests bringing pets to the building. We had multiple complaints and owners asked that something be done. In order to gain more control, we implemented an owner leash requirement. This is a very common practice in many other buildings. It will hopefully discourage non-owners from bringing/keeping pets and also allow security the ability to know who and who are not owners. We have had a few owners that prefer the retractable leash instead of the standard leash. We are looking into that option and it would be an owner's retractable leash similar to the leash we have now and the cost would be around $35. Once we get the firm price an email will be sent out and if you would prefer a retractable leash just let Waves know. Security has been instructed to approach anyone with a pet without the required leash. We want everyone to understand that our goal is to make this a better place and keep it as it should be. We are not a pet-friendly hotel so measures have to be put into place so we can enforce the rules of the Association.

As we move forward into the last stretch of construction we will keep everyone updated on what is going on and when the work is scheduled so you can keep your guests informed.

Here is the most up-to-date report from our project manager with C-Sharp. As always we will update you with any schedule/changes we are made aware of:

We are currently working to complete the South elevation at Island Royale within the next couple of weeks. At the end of this week, we should be complete with the 01 thru 04 stacks. Next week we will be working on the 05 and 06 stacks to hopefully get those completed by the end of next week. We may have some touch-up work and final cleaning that will be done the week of Thanksgiving, but weather permitting, we will be complete with all the painting work prior to Thanksgiving.

We are currently working with our deck coating subcontractor to schedule the recoating for the observation deck on the roof. It will likely be after Thanksgiving before any deck coating work will begin on the roof. I will keep you guys in the loop as soon as I know more about their schedule.
